The Glendale Police Department welcomes your application for the Police Civilian Investigator position. This is a non-sworn, unarmed position within the Police Department. This position will be actively involved in supporting sworn police in detailed/complex criminal investigations. The Police Civilian Investigator is distinguished from a Police Officer since the employee is not a sworn officer, does not carry a firearm, does not respond to in-progress incidents, and does not have any arrest authority.
The Civilian Investigator is responsible for completing case filings, contacting and interviewing witnesses, and conducting investigation of crimes and the completion of reports from victims/witnesses of incidents which are not in-progress. This may include responding to the scene of prior incidents, taking telephone reports, or reviewing/completing internet reports. See Job Description for further details.
Candidates applying for the job should have a minimum of 2-years of investigative experience in public safety and experience filing both felony and misdemeanor cases with a District Attorney Offices.
Currently this is a Part-Time position involving 25-29 hours of work per week with the possibility of the position becoming full time with full benefits. Candidates should express their desire to work Part-Time or Full Time on their application.
